Hey, sometimes our kids just aren't ready to take the plunge into parenthood but they introduce us to their pet and we fall in love. That's how it happened with "Jackson", my daughter's adorable King Charles Spaniel. Whether we consider them a prelude to "real grandchildren" or just a great source of "unconditional love", we get hooked. We find ourselves babysitting, buying little toys and fixing a little dish for them after a holiday gathering.
